Sunrise Tour
2 - 2.5 hours
This tour is a little less ‘tour’ than our others, aimed more at capturing the beauty of sunrise in Rocky Mountain National Park, and the gorgeous purple mountain reflections created by the light. On this tour you will also have a high likelihood of seeing an abundance of wildlife, which are most active at sunrise and sunset. If animals are your top priority this is the tour for you. Your tour will be led by a knowledgeable guide, happy to share stories, and information about Rocky Mountain National Park and the animals you may see. This tour is a great one to do in addition to any of our other more structured tour offerings. The mornings do get chilly in the Rockies but in our climate controlled, glass enclosed panoramic sprinters you’ll stay nice and toasty while taking in all the views! Coffee, hot drinks and other refreshments are always provided on our tours, but this one comes with an extra bonus — fresh baked morning from renowned local bakery, Cinnamon’s Bakery. On all of our tours we provide your park entrance fees and timed entry permit, so you just have to show up ready for an exciting adventure!

The Rocky Mountain Experience
3.5 - 4 hours
Come and experience a taste of life at Rocky Mountain National Park, on this tour your group will do it all. You will travel up above the trees, over two miles above sea level. There will be opportunity to take a short hike or two and see fast flowing snow melt, waterfalls, and glaciers. Come and experience the awe inspiring beauty that is Rocky Mountain National Park, or “Rocky” as we call it. Our knowledgeable guide will give you an in depth guided tour telling you all about the history and science of Rocky and its animals. This tour, from July 4th weekend until the first weekend in October, travels up the famous Old Fall River Road, which is the original high alpine road that opened in 1920 and is itself part of the National Register of Historic Places. We will take a half-way break at the Alpine Visitor Center-- which is the highest altitude visitor center of any national park-- where you will find a cafeteria and giant gift shop, as well as amazing “top of the world” tundra views. Upon leaving the Alpine Visitor Center you will travel back towards Estes Park. Journeying across Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved road in North America, reaching the highest point on the road at 12,183’ shortly after leaving the Visitor Center. You will get spectacular views from inside our panoramic Sprinters, and above the tree line you will be glad the glass roof is fully close-able to protect you from the chilly, hurricane force winds produced in the alpine tundra. If Old Fall River Road is closed for the season (usually opens July 4th weekend and closes end of September) or is closed for any other reasons Trail Ridge road will be used to go both up and down the mountain and the highest point accessible will be the turn around point. This tour covers most of the eastern side of Rocky Mountain National Park except for the Bear Lake Corridor. Coffee, hot drinks, and other refreshments as well as a variety of snacks are provided complementary while on board any of our tours at Purple Mountain Tour Company.

The Full Ride
4 - 4.5 hours
Relax and enjoy the beauty with this tour. On this voyage we will cover the entire eastern side of the park including up Bear Lake Corridor, which is the hardest timed entry permit to get. Have no worries though, as with all our tours, we supply entry fees and timed entry and get you in. There are NO hikes on this tour; although there will be multiple stops for science overlooks, there will be lots of “window time”. So sit back, relax, and enjoy complimentary coffee, hot drinks, and other refreshments as well as a variety of snacks in our retractable glass top panoramic sprinter vans. We follow the same route up the mountain as we do in The Rocky Mountain Experience tour; taking in the beauty of the climb into the alpine tundra, leading to a break at The Alpine Visitor Center, where you will find a cafeteria and giant gift shop, as well as amazing “top of the world” tundra views. On the journey down Trail Ridge road where The Rocky Mountain Experience would exit the park we will turn and venture up Bear Lake Corridor exploring Moraine Park (Meadow), and then venture up the road towards Bear Lake. This tour will end with a stop at either Sprague Lake or Bear Lake. Both of which are well noted for their ease of access, as well as their outstanding beauty. This tour is great for those who may have a harder time with mobility, altitude, or are more interested in nonstop views rather than hikes and excursions.

Hiking Tour
5 - 6 hours
This tour will depart from our office on foot with your guide. You'll head over to the Estes Park Visitor Center where your group will catch the RMNP Hiker shuttle. Once inside the park the shuttle will drop you near Fern Lake Trail Head, from there you will start your 4-5 mile hike by multiple lakes and through areas impacted by the wildfires of 2020. This hike has minimal altitude gain making this a great and achievable hike for almost everyone regardless of altitude acclimation or physical ability. Learn all about the park and surrounding area all while taking this guided hike. We take care of the planning, you just need a smile and good pair of shoes.
